Terms of Service

These Terms ("Terms") govern your use of Damos Lookup (the "Service") at https://damos.orcahq.co.uk, operated by Bloor Engineering Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 14230472) ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Damos Lookup is an ECU identification service for UK automotive remappers. The Service is provided on a B2B basis to UK businesses and professionals. The Service is not intended for consumer use.

2. Account

You must provide accurate registration information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and API tokens secure. We may suspend accounts where we reasonably believe credentials have been compromised.

3. Acceptable use

• You must not use the Service to enable unauthorised modification of vehicle ECUs, evasion of emissions controls, or any activity contrary to UK Type Approval, MoT, or DVLA requirements.
• You must not reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the source code or the underlying damos archive except as permitted by law.
• You must not attempt to circumvent rate limits, paywalls, or security controls.
• You must not use the Service in a way that materially degrades performance for other users.

4. Your content

Binary signature bytes you submit are processed in-memory only and are not retained beyond the SHA-256 hash for usage analytics. You retain all rights to any binaries you upload.

5. Our content

The Service, including the indexed damos/A2L archive, classification engine, software and branding, is owned by Bloor Engineering Ltd or licensed to us. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use lookup results in your business activities. You may not resell access to the underlying archive.

6. Fees

Subscription tiers and prices are stated on the pricing page and are exclusive of VAT (added at the prevailing UK rate). Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice for active subscribers.

7. Refunds and cancellations

For new subscriptions, you may cancel within 14 days of first activation for a full refund of any fees paid, provided you have not made significant use of the service (more than 50 lookups). Cancellations after 14 days take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate. Email support@orcahq.co.uk to cancel.

8. Accuracy disclaimer

The Service identifies ECU hardware/software versions and matches A2L/DAMOS files based on signature data. Outputs are reference information only and do not constitute a guarantee that any matched file is correct for a specific vehicle build, software variant, or production date. You are responsible for verifying any match before applying it to a customer vehicle. Do not rely on Damos Lookup as the sole reference for vehicles where ECU bricking, emissions non-compliance, or safety regression would result.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the fees you paid us in that period (or £100, whichever is greater).
• We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special losses, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of data, or loss of goodwill.
• We expressly exclude liability for damage to vehicle ECUs, emissions equipment, drivelines, or any consequential loss arising from the use of identification or matching data produced by the Service. The remapper is the responsible party for any vehicle work.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate for material breach not cured within 30 days of written notice. We may suspend the Service immediately for non-payment, security violations, or unlawful use. Upon termination we will, on request, provide an export of your account data within 30 days.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, save that we may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction.
